I would be interested to see that. Went out on the lanes yesterday and waded through water deeper than the bottom of the filter. ?

Would not like to try deep water with the stage 3 filter inplace.

To all of you worried about water getting in, please note that DNA sells a cover that can be fitted to seal the filter side, for those who use the bike in wading conditions. This cover can be bought separately, it's made of hard plastic and once fitted it is 100% watertight.

Hi Kemizz,
any update on how the bike is running with the DNA 3 plus Kev mod. That is, are you confident it is not running too lean.

It's an outside filter and you can buy it here: http://www.xt660.com/site/node/324

I did A/F data logging using my Wideband Dynojet commander with my fuel mod + stage 3 DNA filter, when the fuel mod is set around 8 O'Clock it had a A/F ratio of around 13.6:1.

13.6:1 gives engine protection as well as good fuel economy, the standard XT runs between 13:8 & 14.7:1 A/F ratio

If you want the 13.2:1 using a stage 3 air filter then you will need a Power Commander + custom made fuel map.

I've been running the filter for a while , but been doing some heavy offroad driving and bigger trips and for that I removed the filter , as I was still a little worried of water and mud getting through ...

DNA confirmed (I spoke with them on telephone) that they had the idea to make a cover for this filter , but this would mean the same as driving with a standard side box closed ...
meaning a filter that you close when things get wild (water crossing), and later on you just open up for the rest of the ride ...

So they still haven't produced this since they are not sure there is interest enough for this temporary solution.

When I put the key mod at around 8-9 , the bike really pulls a lot better , also when driving on the highway at around 110-120 km/h the bike runs much smoother and listens much better to throttle opening ...

oh and the sound ! very very nice

I never worried that the bike was running to lean , the only thing I checked was my spark plug , and that look the same as before , so I always think it's running fine ! , and probably it is !
