Well i got my custom fuel tank back the other week from the fabricators. It was done as a favour for me so for casting nothing its a nice bit of kit if a little heavy weighing in at about 1.2kg empty. Made of stainless steel with a standard Jerry can nozzle slightly modded so a small pad lock can be put on if required and has a capacity of 6lt's. Fits snugly where the 2nd exhaust should go using the existing exhaust mounts and two simple wing nuts. You can fill it up while on the bike but obviously have to remove it to use which take literally 1 minute. Anyway thought i would share it with the forum for ideas sake:

Its going to be close that's for sure. Had the bracket welded on so the cylinder is as far over as the pannier racks will allow. If it does foul i will just remove the bracket and mount it some place else. It was free so i wasnt going to complain

i like your style Eden.....you could have alot of fun offroad where you live with that capacity!!! Well done

The main reason i asked them to fabricate it for me is my trip to Italy this summer. Got 2 weeks booked off and heading 1050 miles to the family home in the mountains of North Italy. From there i will check out the mountains as best i can, nothing major off road but a mix of forest tracks some quite poor and grassy open mountain. It will help there and on the way out through France i wont worry about pushing the tank range once the red light comes on knowing i have 6lt spare.
Had a nice ride yesterday mixing in twisty road and some nice Welsh hill side:

hi cool job, tho be careful, i see it's not vented, a regular jerry can is designed to expand and is still very dangerous, i have seen first hand a full jerry can being opened on a hot day!

i built a 9.4 ltr job for the h.legend rally, vented of coarse

9.4 litres, thats like haivng an extra fuel tanker behind you
