Hand Guards & bar end weights

Hi !
I am new to this forum, and i have just ordered an new -09 tenere.
I have read that the KTM hand guards will fit the tenere.

But i cant figure out if you can fit them with the bar end weights still in place?
Is that possible or do you have to dismount them?

I have tried searching this forum but there is just so much information to read!

Regards
Tommy

Hi Tommy!

Yes, if you want to, you can use the stock bar-end weights to secure the KTM hand-guards - they sit very neatly in the recess in the end of the hand-guards, almost as if they were made for them!

That said, I never found the bike vibrated particularly badly though the bars anyway, so if you want to keep the bike narrower, you can just do away with the bar weights and fit the handguards with the fittings supplied?

which ktm model handgaurds should i be ordering as i would love to ditch the OE handgaurds in favour of something with better protection from the rain, wind and snow & (volcanic ash). ha ha and still use the bar weights.

The ones that look like this:

They are the accessory handguards (that are the same as fitted to a 640/990 Adventure) sold for all the Enduros... I think they only do one kind of wrap-around one...
