does anyone know where to get new mirrors from online??

I had a set from off-the-road, the carbon ones, and could barely see out of them they are so small, one now has a crack in it (i think from vibration) and the mirror shakes like crazy, want to go back to the originals. My original 06 mirrors are all scratched up and need to find somewhere online to get original mirrors from, preferably 07 ones, as kev mentioned they changed design and i think the later model mirrors look a lot more stable.

any recommendations?

I think your best bet it either ebay or your local yamaha dealer. Ive been looking for different mirror as the standard ones i found ok but weak and after 6 months they kept needing constant adjusting as everything had loosened. As of yet havent found much info on any thing really, all are either stupidly expensive, to light so vibrate too much, or dont fit the funny right hand thread of all yamahas.

Last thing i came up with was the old TDM 850 ones which still do the right hand thread but they are slow at coming up on ebay. If i get a set i will keep you's informed about they are like.

the left mirror on my 07 xtx is very loose, is there any way of tightening them? i pulled back the black rubber cover but all i see is 2 small cutouts on the stem where i thought should be a nut. is there a special tool for this?

07 mirrors should have a solid bar from the mirror to the 17mm nut on the bars. 04 to 06 mirrors had a 2 peice stem with the black cover that you are talking about.

I do remember this cover but can't remember what tool was needed to tighten it. Can you post a photo so we can tell you what tool is needed to tighten your mirror.
