"Winterising"!

Hi guys

now that the temp is dropping, what do you do when its time to put the bike away until Spring time if your not inclined to ride it through the snow?

What are the dos/donts of storing a bike? And if you do ride it through all weathers, whats your top tips afterwards to keep it running well?

Ryben

ACF50, everywhere. Then wipe the excess from the brake discs.

Come the spring, a good soaking with muckoff/techwash type of thing (which has a degreaser in it) wash it and ride away.

Me, I cover the bike from head to toe in ACF50, then ride through the winter. I top up the ACF with a soaking of F365 stuff once a week when its salty on the roads and give the Scotoiler some support with some cheap chain oil sprayed onto the chain once a week too.

I never wash the bike during the winter, just keep on chucking the F365 on, then give it a dammed good soak with Muckoff and a power wash in the spring - then it gets a service.

Others will have thier own methods, I use both of the above (one on the Ten the other on the XJR) and both bikes defy thier age and mileage in so far as thier conditions show.
