Some updates and Mods
Hello, I've had my Tenere about 4 years now, not really messed about with it just enjoyed using it so far!
I've now decided to make a few mods and was wondering could I do stage 1,2 and 3 intake mods without getting the Kev Mods straight away? I've got a set of Scorpion pipes for the bike too, do you think this will make much difference to the performance? Any help would be very much appreciated. Big Dazza |

Here is the full breakdown of the various filter stages and what is required for them to work.

However, that is as far as you can safely go. Adding Stage 2 and 3 WILL require fuelling changes. TBH, fitting Kev's fuel mod and O2 controller actually make a bigger difference to how the bike "feels" for the money, as opposed to spending the 100 on a Stage 2 top and Stage 3 side cover. Kev's mods significantly improve the tractability and useable rev range of the bike and make it a whole lot easier and more pleasurable to ride. Once you've got the fuelling mods in place, look at going Stage 2 later and then Stage 3 further down the line. If you do the mods in small steps, you notice the difference between them more clearly and get a better idea of what's doing what. Also it'll keep you interested, give you something to look forward to. To sum up, if I were in your position, this is how I'd plan things out (but please feel free to do whatever you like!)

Thanks for your input everyon
Thanks guys, really appreciate your input, I like the idea of a slower more staged approach, you are right, this will keep me interested!!
I'm looking forward to making a start with these mods now. I think after reading more last night, the kev mod is definitely high on my list of things to do! Regards, Dazza. |

Would love to see a photo of the Scorpion system fitted....it's on my hit list! The other mod that will help and is free is the throttle mod...it makes quite a difference .Steve

I will post some pics as soon as everything is bolted on and sorted (still waiting for the exhaust to come at this point). I've bought some other goodies (bash plate, brush guards, headlight guard etc.)

Quick update
So everything has been delivered and I've pretty much fitted all the lovely new bits, the Skorpion exhaust is a real quality product, an absolute breeze to fit and sounds great!
Adventure Spec bash plate looks fantastic a massive improvement on the standard one, I also bought Barkbuster brush guards which are now fitted. Overall I'm loving everything and now with the DNA filter in with the snorkel still in place stage 1 is complete. There is a noticeable difference (aside from the now much better soundtrack) throttle response is much improved. Will try to take a few pics tomorrow when it's not chucking it down with rain! |
