Peeps,

Im a highly skilled mechanic "and modest with it" we all know that dealers are by and large a load of crap.

I want to do all my own servicing from the very start including the 1000KM oil and filter change and am going to email Yamaha for the official position on warranty if I do this.

Anyone any experience of what Yamaha's response will be? clearly they want to protect the revenue stream for dealers but I do long distance tours and want a bike that I know is maintained properly. Not left to some pleb who can't give a toss just so I can get a stamp in a book.

What say you?
