Love the rim tape
![]() Do NOT order a wavy disc from China! They are utter junk ... there's plenty of good companies around with decent prices on discs! You might also try getting your disc honed or machined. Also make sure the bobbins are moving freely - it's supposed to be a floating disc, isn't it? |

Galfer are the big names in wavy's IIRC but I hate the look
![]() I wasted so much money and time trying to sort out the brakes without actually just manning up and paying for new discs ![]() |

MOT = Passed!
![]() Got one advisory that the rear tyre in getting close to legal limit. I know its getting low but it has plenty left and certainly enough to be legal for a good while yet. Front brake is improved using Kevs method to free the disc up as well so no disc needed at the moment either.

Sweet! We got to do the MOT-type thing once every 2 years ... once it's passed that, you can do anything you like - I got baffles for my race pipes to get through the sound test
![]() EBC are good guys too ... Braking Wave, just came to me - that's the big wavy brand too ... I hate 'em though, they look lame but that's just me ![]() |

I have been out today for a weekend blast around the country lanes near to where I live. It is very windy and blustery out so anything in exposed roads was "interesting" as I was getting blown all over the place.
The touring screen really is a great bit of kit, totally transforming high speed riding to a comfortable part of XTX ownership. The stock screen though looking very good is a waste of time at high speed, but we all already knew that. I am going to have to buy a new front brake disc as this one has a slight warp in it so at slow speed you can feel it. Its not urgent to replace so I will use it for the rest of this year and I will keep my eye out on Ebay for a newish second hand one. I took a few pictures so you can see it without the bash plate or the Yamaha large tuning forks that I recently added and then removed! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Why did I put this thread in the cleaning section! Dunno!
Anyway bit of an update, I removed the Kev mod Meach fitted as I purchased a second hand PCIII. Fitted that and had a little fun setting it up but worth the effort. The bike runs very nice on the fuel map M412-504. I need to get a few miles to fully appreciate if this map is ideal as there are a couple of others listed that may work well. Initial reaction is the PCIII makes a worthwhile improvement. This is the second time I fitted a PCIII to an XT, the only difference is this time there are no other performance mods. Again still worth it IMHO. I also removed the reflective blue rim tape and refitted with reflective silver/white in a small attempt to lift the overall appearance of the bike. It looks pretty good (at night) and a certain improvement over the blue. Pics to follow once I get it in daylight. You know me always up for a photo shoot! Toot toot!
