2011 XT1200Z for the US and Canada

Hey, y'all! Just read on ADV, that the US and Canada will get the S10 too, as of may 2011, MSRP $13.900,-, in blue or BLACK(!!!). They're very happy overthere! Hopefully we'll too get the black one!
Greetz, Hans.

Well done on waiting such a long time for an XT to be imported to the USA - once this model is established perhaps it might be that other XTs are submitted for your rigorous motoring standards. will always be at the forefront of owner/user support for these models.

For the YAMAHA ones.....

DO NOT get the panniers..... Too weak for serious use - commuting only.

Crash bars are good for the engine but more protection is needed for the rad. 2 failures noted so far where the fan has hit the rad. One wore through the rad and the other jammed the fan and burned it's motor out.
Note to self, after a left hand fall, check the spinning of the fan !

Grips are good but expensive.

Lights are good but ugly.

Screen is not much bigger than standard - i.e. not worth spending money on. There is a better US version available if you want bigger.

Deflectors are good.

Tank bag is neat.

Sump guard is adequate but the rear fixing point will not tolerate too much bellying out. Problem is that there is very few substantial points to fit it to.

Less than 9,000 would make it a lot more attractive on this side of the pond!

You gotta add tax and pdi to that, though - maybe another 12% depending on where you are; still cheaper than UK though...
