G’day all I just thought I’d share a great product that some may be interested in, I’m am not involved with this company in anyway shape or form, I received this item as a gift from the family at Christmas time and i think they are setting up in the UK now. We have seen a few Helmet LED lights here and there but these things are like having a car headlight stuck on top of ya head with batteries that start @3hrs – 6hrs. initially aimed at for the push bike market they are still robust to have on your helmet etc.
So when doing a little adventuring and you end up getting stuck out in the countryside having these things to quickly install on your helmet or handlebars would be extremely handy.
Here is the twin head light set up with the 3hr battery on left, and the 6hr battery on right

Buying different lenses gives you different beam angles here’s 3 of them

A bit of a size comparison

A close up of the swivelling lights

The very clever lithium polymer charger set up, charge 2 batteries at once

Comes with a neoprene roll to pack everything away in

Different mounting options include this little stick on mount, also you can get like a Geko type mount than would suit peak mounting better and you can get a handlebar mount also Oh! And a head strap for the light and battery.

You can buy in kits or custom pick the bits you want, another great thing is buying extra mounts or “the little things” is cheap.

A couple of points on the LED's being discussed.

The Vision X Solstice Solos are a 10 watt light producing 900 lumens of output, more than double the 400 lumens for the other setup the guy introduced.

Vision X Solstice lamps are manufactured for use on motor vehicles, originally for strapping to the front of 1000bhp trophy trucks racing in Baja. Consequently, the have a practically unbreakable poly-carbonate lens and a very solid cast aluminium shell, so when your mate passes you and fires rocks at you, your lights wont be obliterated. A very lightweight unit is great on a pushbike lid but is no where near as rubust. They also include a very simple but tough 1 bolt bracket that fits practically anywhere, or particularly on our bespoke XT660z Tenere mount ( see here)

Another important point is that Vision X Solstice Solos are designed to be wired into a vehicles electrical system, so will accept between 9 and 50 volts DC. They come with a 2 wire connector and wire straight in, no messing about with adapters and the like.

If you do want to run a battery powered helmet setup, a Vision X Solstice solo, plus a 3 hour battery pack including a charger pack and a helmet/bar mount kit will set you back 205.39, not really that far off.

There are loads of mountain bike helmet light kits available at similar prices, but for mounting on a motorcycle and running off the bike i'd suggest a vehicle specific unit is far better suited.

But i would say that...

Heres a pair mounted on my XR650R, with the standard headlight uprated to a 55w unit for comparison

and below a pair mounted on Mark's CRF250x
