12v sat nav socket

i am after fitting a waterproof 12v socket to my 2004xtx any tips or advice would be very helpfull. which one to buy etc

it is so simple. I've done it to my XTX 07 as well. Waterproof indeed, only I placed it under the seat to be invisible. Cable goes under the seat all the way to the front for your Sat Nav, plus, you can also charge your phone.
Just make sure there is a fuse box between the battery and the socket to avoid any "electric surprise"!

I was thinking of one of these http://www.buybits.com/product/sku_6132.aspx for charging my SatNav and phone. Anyone else tried them or shall i be the guinea pig?

I bought a stainless steel marine grade one from a chandlers near where I live. It's mounted on the front consul so handy for GPS etc. It's pretty much out of the way of any rain blast and seems to work well there.
