What MOD First? Advice please.
OK this is my first post as could do with some advice in general.
I have Kev's MOD's downloaded, so that's a start. I want to make my modifications to improve performance and I'm no mechanic/wizard but will have a go and have seen all the threads on the site, however, I'm aware I need new cans, watching eagerly with regard to MTC exhausts, air filter etc. But in what order, to keep cost down/spread cost over time, could I make changes in stages and still benefit ? If so in what order? XT is standard and I think the first thing is to stop the lurching forward in slow moving traffic/about town. Any ideas would be very much appreciated. Thanks...... |

Right this is just my personnel view to sort you out.
Kev fuel mod (which will hopefully sort out your fuelling even with out the filters) Stg1 filter Stg2 filter Cans Kev spacer mod Done. You could get a stg 3 mod but is very expensive

kevs fuel mod will sort most of the surging and if you build your own like I did its very cheap to do. Upping your c0 setting also helps towards this, as does the cush drive rubber mod.
I've put k+n stage 1, dna stage 2, mtc cans, and kev fuel mod on mine and also carried out the air box mod and snorkel removel all in various stages. Best power improvement per pound has to be the dna stage 2 filter. Best sound improvement is the mtc's. Happy modding, be warned though, it's addictive

No need - the Kev Mod is perfectly reversible, you can have it on and off and no effect on any warranty items.

The 09 model has a better ECU then the 07/08 models in regards to the surging, the best solution to reduce the surging is with a Power Commander with a custom made fuel map if you have the money. The filters really open up the HP & Torque on these motors & would recommend you get the stage 1 & 2 DNA filters as well.

If you cant afford both stage 1 and 2 DNA filters at once, the stage 2 makes the bigger difference. As yet I still haven't got a DNA stage one.(Any one getting shot of one let me know). The MTC cans are very reasonsble cost wise and very good too.
