Foot pegs

Cheers

Hi there.

Few things guys have done was to use off-road footpegs. The stock XT ones are rubber units and they can get very slippery if they get mud on them. If you plan on using the bike for commuting and normal road riding, the rubber ones are nice as they absorb vibration and don't mess up your shoes like the off-road ones do.

You get aftermarket off-road footpegs that might fit.

Also, have you started the motor yet?

Hi Freeze, thanks for the advice. Yes, ive started the motor. Started very quickly and the motor sounds great. The radiator was bent, but not leaking, so i just started it, switched it off and started the disassembly. A Radiator company close to where i stay are in the process of manufacturing a radiator for me, and hopefully i'll get that tomorrow. The most of everything else has been taken care of though. I'll be in Pretoria for a couple of weeks in april, so that will stall everything, but hopefully by end of apreil everything will be sorted.

Thanks again for your assistance and advice. It was an absolute pleasure doing business with you.

Cheers

Glad the motor is fine, cause no one else I spoke to at the insurance started the motor. One less thing to worry about.

Should have asked more for it...lol.

footpegs

contact Offroad Cycles in Pretoria and speak to Conrad.
You will pick up a nice locally manufactured offroad footpegs from him. Mine cost me R500 2 years ago, not sure what they will set you back now. They are made from strong stainless steel and will last a lifetime. Wear and tear on your boots or shoes isn't so bad. I will rather replace a shoe, than falling off in the wet or mud from no grip on footpegs.
