what tires (again)

I am in the middle of fitting some xtx wheels on my xtr. my last xtx had the stock pirelli mtr's on it and i loved it, i have the rear tire right down, virtually no chicken strips. i and looking at tires now and am thinking should i get them again, or michelin 2ct pilot power, have heard great things about them.

I know you are all going to recoment avon distanzias, and i want to like them i just , well dont, and from what i have heard they wont hold on like the 2ct's.... i ride for corners, so want it grippy, long life isnt too much of a problem, its a weekend bike.

what do you think????

These are fantastic bits of rubber !!! forget the grip or handling worrys the Distanzers will take care of all of that, and you can just have fun and Ride !!!

Replaced the OEM rear with a Distanzia... BIG improvement, can't wait till the front wears a bit more and then I'll have a pair of Distanzia's on Highly recommended!

Its got to be the AVON Distanzia's. I wouldn't have anything else now.

as bad as this sounds, the avon would be a perfect choice, stick and off road useable.... but the thing putting me off............. god, they are ugly.

look fine on the 21 inch wheels, but on the 17's, just dont look right, reminds me of the Yam TW125 and not an XT streetmoto..... (gonna get slated for this)

No you wont, I agree with all the Distanzias are the tyre to fit on XTX wheels. For me they are the best looking tyre to fit as well as perform. Its your oppinion and your bike so if you like OEM go for it. I swapped my OEM ones the second I had the cash over to Avons as I preferred the way the Avons tipped into the corners over the OEM. That said the OEM is a good tyre just very short on life but you already answered that one.

thanks tony.... the OEM was a good tyre and had some good lean angles, but didnt give the confidence to go that little harder.... i had pilot 2ct;s on my ktm 690 duke and that handles soooooo well. but thats a different bike, so i want sometyhing thats gonna be good on my xt. i am swaying towards the 2ct again and the bridgestone bt016's, cozi know thay are good tyres but will they warm up enough on a 40 bhp bike.....
