This is a call to all you XT'rs in the Gauteng area. Somehow it's hard to get a few XT'rs out of their holes for a ride. Lets make some effort....especially all the new Tenere owners!

We are all busy, and for me to steal a few hours on a weekend, is not always possible. I guess we do not all like the same kind of riding, and have the same haste doing it. Surely we can do something to keep everyone happy.

For me, it's always nice to ride with guys more experienced than me. Thats how i learned, riding with different riders.

So, if you like tar, dirt ,mud, sand ,bushes, water, technical, rocks.....and sitting under a tree after a good few k's with a frosty...it's time!

I say this ride should not be more than a few hours.

I have a list of over 15 XT's just in Pretoria. The problem is they don;t spend enough time on the forum to enjoy it like we do. Communication between the owners is also down to the minimum, maybe they dont like the competition (not that there is any between us). I can send you all their names and numbers, i have spreadsheet. Riders is welcome to bring their wifes with on most of the rides that we did in the past, but looks like it is only Labrat's wife that can handle the bunch of men.

If you are thinking of Rhino Park ride, prepare yourself to remove those mirrors and some hard riding. The circle route we did last year was very technical and made for 250 or 400class bike, it is also not very long ride, unless you know the owners of the farm next door...but enjoy, i will see if i can join you.

Planned trip for 5 days.
Two possible dates 3-7 April or 21-25 June. June seems to be the favourite up to date with most of the riders.
At moment it seems like there could be about 4-6 of us, welcome to join.

Full kit. Winter time, so prepare your kit and gear so long. Go and practice some sand, there will be places with thick sand...how did Leanordo call it in Blood Diamond???...TIA..."This is Africa".

Ride to Parys, 75% dirt. Expect to be back round 3. If i have your details, you should have recieved an sms already.
As it is at the moment we are 6 riders, more welcome.

Pta guys will meet at koeksuster x in Hatfield at Engen and drive through to Centurion to get more riders. From there, tarmac through Randfontein. After the Potch N17 - Randfontein xrossing we will hit the dirt all along the river to Parys. Bfast there and do circle route of about 100km in area and head back.

Ok, for all of you who chickened out for some reason, i can inform you that you missed out on a awesome 530km dirt frenzy today.
Leaving Pretoria in fresh morning hours, heading to Krugersdorp was reminder that winter is on it's way. Climbing off from tarmac just after Randfontein, we headed towards Pothc / Fochville / Parys area. 2 minute rain storms came down hard on us for a quick bike and visor wash every hour. And that of course made the dirt roads interesting...
All i can say, is that the 2 Katoom Super Enduro's and the XT had alot of fun for the day....hope you can join next time.
