Barkbuster Hand Guards have arrived!

Just received a parcel from DHL at work and its my Barkbuster handguards from Adventure Spec.

First impressions:

Very impressive, much better quality than the touratech guards, these have a steel bar running through them. They are also much much much heavier than the touratech ones, the bar ends are a lot more substantial than touratech too. Will fit them tonight and report back tomorrrow. But first impressions for 85 delivered are very good. Good quick delivery and advice from Chris at Adventure Spec too

PS and instructions are in English (not german!)

Got a set on my Ten - love them. Great protection when you drop it out in the rough

Let us know how they fit.
From the pics it looks like they might hit the screen when turning the bar.
(That's why I haven't ordered them yet)

I fitted the barkbusters last night, unbelievably quick to install.

All fitted together nicely, very solid construction and the supplied bar ends are very ample in weight. Installation was very easy, with good clear instructions in English.

Also worth noting, they come supplied with variable height wind deflectors, you have two positions to screw these to the handguards and I opted for the highest position to gain the most wind deflection. There was no drilling required (as with touratech deflectors), the handguards look good, they have the Barkbusters logo/name moulded in to the plastic in white lettering and all in all I'm very impressed with them. The proof of the pudding was in the test ride as many will know I had very bad vibes with the Touratech guards at 40mph.

This morning I rode to work as normal and I felt no vibrations at all, great news! It was ideal conditions to test the wind deflectors being one of the windiest days this year and by the time I got to work my usually numb cold fingers were fine and dandy.

Good work Barkbusters, incidentally I emailed barkbusters direct before I purchased them and the guy in Australia emailed me back answering my concerns within 12 hours, Touratech are just 30 miles away from me and take 5 days to reply to emails!

I've got a few snaps but these were taken on my phone in a messy garage, I'll get some better snaps when I've cleaned my baby on the weekend!

All good info. Am in the process of deciding which handguards and these were high on my list. Was there any hassle with the guards bumping the screen?

Was there a 'model' number for the guards you got?

Cheers

Pleased to hear they went on ok bexman. Are they only available in black or silver do you know? I've been looking at the Moose racing ones to replace my ragged Venoms.

Try saying that out of context in a pub and see the looks you would get!

Congratulations. I have the KTM ones and like them but those Barkbusters look fantastic. I may even change mine to them at a later date.
