Show us your helmet

Show us your helmet and give a bit of a review.

I thought it would be nice to have a topic where people can show their helmet.

I have a Shark Evoline at the moment, but i just ordered a Arai Tour-X3 Long way down (Blue)
Im having my 4th Shark within 1,5 years, as it kept on breaking down.
Thats why i wanted something that can also be used for offroading and still is a bit open for cooling.

Ordered it in the UK as it was €700 euros over here, in UK it was only €450 with transport costs.
Hope to receive it next week.

I use a Shoei Hornet,,,fits my head well and comfortable. I like the peek to shelter from the sun glare.

Arai Chaser, Phil Read replica.
About 35,000 miles in it so far, and 2 offs. I tried a Shoei Hornet and didn't get on with it. It's just over 2 years old and needs a good clean again. I go with the Arai advice of taking it in the shower with some baby shampoo. Though last time I used herbal essences and it was like sticking my head in something unpleasant.
Anyway, my lid, I like it.

Not even sure what I'd replace it with. I've been looking at Bell lids.

Me too. but the peak isn't as good as the Aria tour X....... Less noise than the Aria, and lighter though

Check the Tour X threads for more than just my own personal opinion...

Aria TourX (original) 2002 vintage.. its getting on a bit, visor/peak bolts snapped numerous times so replaced with Rack/Cage bolts which were excess stock from a local BT data centre. The top vents now flutter in the wind at speed (very odd rustling sound). I use a fog city to keep the visor clear(er) as the pinlock doens't seem very effective (but i've not had much luck with them in any helmet tbh). I also have a shoie multitech2 and old xr1000 but the aria is my fav. I dont worry too much about noisy helmets -even if I should- so its not something i've stressed about too much with the aria. Worst bit for me is the short strap, makes it awkward to do up wearing gloves (read impossible).

I use this Shoei XR 1000 for trackdays and for the pure tarmac road trips:

and a cheapo Airoh S4 (bought on sale for 89) for the mixed and off road trips:

My helmet is a cheap Nitro one. Had it for years and I love it. Cost about 50, feels light and fits well. Has vents which work well in summer. Overall for the price I am really happy with it. A year or so ago I purchased a smoked visor for it and that was an excellent addition in the summer really reducing the suns glare.

Its relatively quiet on runs but if I go a long way I do add ear plugs to reduce the noise further. Matched up really well with all my XT's as well so far.

I know the saying goes buy the best you can but to be honest I am more concerned over limb breaks in an off than spending crazy money but that is just me.

I recently went go karting and again this helmet was excellent and it was so nice to use your own helmet rather than the rubbish, ill fitting stuff you get handed out at these type of events.

My helmet is a HJC CL-X5 Mammoth. Why? It was cheap, it was in the store and it fit my scull. =)

I also have a Raid-II but I mostly use the HJC, I like goggles.
