Red face Autocom connections

Is anyone able to reccomend the best place to connect the autocom box of tricks? on my previous bike (xl1000v) i connected it to the power for the fan and straight to the the battery for the earth, so it was switched when the ignition was on, but on the XTx i am not sure where the best place to connect it would be, and also where is the best location for the actual autocom box? any help is greatly appreciated

thanks

I remember someone saying that if you take the seat off there are two connection plugs just behind the battery, one is for an alarm and cant member what the other was for. One of those wires are live.

For my heated grips i just connected up to the main head light.

As for the best place to put it not too sure, i use to have an star comm (same thing differernt name) and i placed it in the cubby hold at the back of the seat, but make sure to pad it out so the vibs do get at it.
