For those of you that ride in the cold and have considered heated grips heres what I think of the Oxford Overgrips.
Right I think its the best �40 i,ve spent on my bike ! I suffer with poor curculation in my fingers on my left hand and it does,nt have to get too cold before working switches becomes a problem. I fitted the grips my self the other evening, it took me about 2 hours to do a nice tidy job of running the wiring back to the battery i,ve run it with the rest of the loom so I had to move the tank out of the way. At first the grips take a bit of getting used too as they make the grips a bit wider. I did find that with my summer golves on in slow traffic they get a bit too hot so I turned them off, but once on the move in the open they are great!! Im going to move the +ve wire from the battery to the park light feed so that when the ignition is off so are the grips. So all in all im very happy with them.

Yeah, me too. I got mine as I ave a few bikes and it's really easy to change them for one to another. I'm the world's worst mechanic and it only takes me 10 minutes tops - of course I don't route them very tidily, given that they'll always be temporary on any gven bike. My only complaint is that there is no adjustability other than your speed and the temperature.
I find them particularly good during Autumn and Winter months, when I use latex workshop gloves inside my summer leather gloves. That way, I keep dry hands (the latex inners) and maintain good feel. The heated outer grips keep the hands warm and help dry the leather gloves. In short, they're very versatile.

Yep I only fitted mine a few weeks ago and never had any before they're great! What a difference not having to thaw my hands out for 10 mins or so.

Just wondering about these, is the extra grip size off putting at all? Also what is the grip like? Would they hold out if you were doing any kind of off-road?

I dont have any but they are only really held on by some velcro so after a while i would guess the velcro would wear out a bit with the constant muck, wetting/drying, power washing etc but maybe someone else will be along to say different.

I found the extra width of the grips a bit odd to start with but hey if you put winter gloves on they will be thicker!!!
As for off roading I would,nt like to say but as Maxwell says they are only held on with velcro so you could take them off while off road!

Cool. Sound like they would do the job until I could get around to putting a proper under-grip solution (and then donate them to dad )

Had mine for three years, several bikes, including off-road (trail not mx) and so far they are great. Velcro remains fixed, firm and intact. Very impressed.

Oxford grips are Ok, but as a few of you have said they are a bit thick/wide, whatever the terminology.

I have used for years now the symtec heated grips which go under the grip itself, that way you casn still use your nromal sticky grips of whatever preference you have. You can buy them from Winding Roads, and i have used them for years on my off-roader, so they are thoroughly tried and tested.

I've used oxford over grips in the past and found only haveing short fat hands they make the grips too large. Also as somebody else said they are either on or off. I've just bought and fitted the symtec under grip heaters from windyroads (ebay �41) and they are much better for me as ive re-used the original grips, and they have a high and low setting for different temps / riding speeds.
