I got T-boned by a kid on a scooter this morning, luckily he did more damage to his machine than to mine .
Not a single car driver bothered to get out to see if we were OK. Both of us were laying in the road with loads of cracked plastic around, and we had to pick our bikes up and push to the side while they all watched - b*stards. Then one car drove over the debris and completely crushed the scooters indicator pod which had looked OK a few seconds before.

Any way, apart from a smashed left hand air scoop panel (�35.31 for a new one) and bent gear lever, my mirrors and clutch lever are all out of whack.
The clutch lever was easy to align, but how do you adjust the mirror stems?

There's two nuts on the clutch side mirror, the top one with the tapered shoulder undoes easy enough, but has no effect on the stem movement. The bottom nut will not move relative to the stem, but just unscrews the mirror when it is turned.
When the bottom nut is tight against the clutch lever mount, the mirror stem is angled too far forward, so it looks like I need to turn the bottom nut on the thread about half a turn. Problem is it won't move, should it?
Also when the top nut is tightened there is a gap of 2-3mm between the two nuts, so what is the top nut for?

On the right hand mirror, there are two nuts on the bottom of the stem, then the shouldered nut above, again with a small gap, so the two bottom nuts are locking each other.

Dog Tired

The mirrors are a bit of a ratbag!! The nut with the taper is the only one you need to move!!! It will need backing off a long way then just give a good tug.
I had to do mine after I took them off and had too soak them with WD40 for agess dont forget the right hand mirror has a left had thread as I found out after strugling like a tw*t
