Tyre Sizes

Am looking at fitting some more off road focused rubber to my ten, probably the Trelleborg Swiss Army Tyres http://www.trelleborgtyres.co.uk/product_details_32.htm

Only problem is that this site lists the rear as 4.75 * 17 as opposed to 130/80/17 - By my reckoning the 130/80 metric should equate to 5 in inches so the listed tyre (the only 17" listed) is a bit smaller than it should be. Is this a problem or should I just bang on the 4.75 * 17 and be done with it?

Dropped them a line via their website asking the same question, response below:

Hello Steve

Not out of luck because the 4.75 would be ok but a little narrower than what you are used to. they have been fitted to BMW 800's before now but it is a rea shame that they don't do a wider one. Another alternative is the Mitas
E-09 Dakar in a 130 or 140/17. A good tyre but does not have the tread depth of the Army Special.

If I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to get back in touch
