Smashed indicator cost me
So, I went for a spin this morning before it rained (again....).
After a very windy night, the B roads were littered with bits of tree branch. I went to overtake a car doing around 50 in front - as I was pulling out, it flicked up a piece of tree, which bounced off front of bike & then hit me in the knee. I got home with a bruised leg, & it seems the wood smashed the front R/H indicator en-route. I went to local dealer: a new indicator is around 8.50 + VAT & is special order.... So I bought a pair of Oxford Mini indicators for 17.50. They look very nice, BUT: the threaded mount is 9mm & the existing cable hole is around 7mm. So: out with the drill!!!
Lots of swearing/overheating drill bit etc....
The moral of the story: if you're going to fit after market indicators, CHECK THE MOUNTING DETAILS VERY CAREFULLY BEFOREHAND!!!
