Fuel or electrical fault, please help
I have a 2006 660x, 01 ecu, 2000 miles on the clock. The bike stood over the winter plugged itno an optimate. It started first time to get me out for an mot but when starting the bike after the mot, the battery was flat. I jump-started it to get me home and remember the bike run a little lumpy on the way home for the first time. Ive bought a new battery as recommended on this site, from ebay for 35- as opposed to 120- at webbs P.Boro (thanks for the pointer there). Ive fitted it today and been out for a blast to discover a problem.
The bike starts and doesn't miss a beat until you ride along and let go of the throttle to slow down, the bike stalls. it wont bump on the clutc but will start straight away on the button. If you tickle the bike along it starts to misfire a little as you go along. I have not experienced the surging stuff before but even so this i feel is different as it just dies. This seems to happen if slowing down from 60 or over that.
Does the dash reset itself if flat? Nightmare....
Any ideas greatly reeceived as I want to go and play for the first time it what feels like bloody ages.. dave
