Waterpump leakage?
Hi, has anyone experienced waterpump seal leakage?
Waterpumps on have a small hole underneath in case of the seal fails, so the coolant wouldnt "stay in the system". Well, on my bike, when high revving, i get a little coolant dripping out from this little hole underneath the waterpump. I found this out today after a longer ride, when I leaned my bike, some coolant dropped on pavement , that was gathered inside bash plate. Bike has done 18000km, so far no problems. Will go to service on monday/tuesday. What would be the cost of a new seal, I have no idea... The good thing is, I was about to replace the coolant anyway :P |

Yes I've noticed a small weeping of coolant from this tiny hole just enough to leave a stain on the bashplate no actual liquid is evident on mine.
Not sure if it is normal or means seal replacement is necessary. Any experts ?? |

well the hole should be dry... so if you see any sign of leakage, at least my Yamaha centre recommended to change the seal...
