Advice from pump attendant - it works!!
Just a bit of "use it, don't use it" info (especially if you're as daft as I am).
Went for a ride out last weekend & did a bit of dirt along the way, as usual. Tire started deflating & once I had stopped to pump it, the valve "got stuck" & the tyre started deflating quickly. Pump attendant grabs an empty can of oil, chucks a bit on the valve, pumps it a little & off I go. I was mega impressed & he even followed-up with an explanation. 
Like I said - Just a bit of "use it, don't use it" info!!

When you think about it, it's obvious.
I just never thought about it, and probably never would - even when the tyre was pancake flat and I was waiting for the recovery truck.... Nice tip for the emergency bag that one.
