Your Tener pictures thread
Would be fun if we shared our Tener related pictures in one thread, and even better if they are combined with ride reports and stories from your adventures together with the bike.
Personally I'm a lousy photographer and rarely manage to capture the great moments..
Here's one anyway taken with my cellphone: This is the last known picture of my Tourance rear tire. It was 3 weeks after I had picked up the bike. Had toured around in the south of Sweden (and discovered some amazing roads!) until I had my 1000 km service and then began the 1300 km (~800 miles) trip back home. I bought the bike in Nssj in the south simply because when I had decided to buy one all was taken since Yamaha couldn't deliver enough bikes to Sweden. After a lot of phone calls I found this white beauty and decided to combine picking it up with some vacation. Swore an holy oath to do the trip without touching the highway and only travel on country roads and gravel. Sadly the panniers and stuff I had ordered hadn't arrived so I had to borrow some soft bags, but the fake exhausts proved to be very handy since I could tie the bags onto them without worrying about the heat. Anyway, the picture: It's taken just as I've passed the high coast bridge a couple of kilometers north of Sundsvall, and at that time the tire kept its shape with the help of 3(!) cans of tire repair foam. Kept on going for some 200 km until I realized I couldn't go on like that. Foam was leaking out around the rim and the tire could blow any second. Crashed at a friends place and waited for the repair shops to open Monday morning. With a new Scorpion and 250€ less in my pocket (it was a ripoff, but what could I do?) the rest of the trip went smooth. Was a good way to get to know the bike and I loved it every second. It's not a beast on the strip and it's sometimes a struggle to get past the road trains, but so what? It takes me everywhere anytime without hesitating, and I'm confident to take this thumper far away from civilization. It's rock solid. Last edited by Molgan; 21-07-08 at 11:32. |

I just went to pick up my new white tenere, yes, another white one, how original...
It was at the dealer one week early so I'm not complaining. Dealer installed the topcase and the engine bars, and forgot to bill the engine bars. That makes for a very good deal. Because the bank was closed I could'nt get to my savings so I gave the dealer my ducati hypermotard to keep until I get to my money, that way, I can drive my new toy this weekend. September I will be doing a weeklong journey to the Tatra mountains in Slovakia, I'll keep you posted. |

Nice pic! Don't see that many Tenere's yet on the road and here are two! Hey guys, where do you both live in Belgium? I live in Oosterhout, just near the Belgian border. I often take a ride to Belgium, twisting the backroads near Poppel, Geel, Leopoldsburg and such places. Maybe we can meet and ride someday? Greetz, Hans.

Nice! And amazing, 4 out of 4 are white.
I picked white since it reminded me of my very first bike, a Yamaha DT 125 LC -84 (I think) who had the same colors and decals.

Black is back! And it's by far the fastets colour... ;-)
Here's my baby. I didn't get my alu cases before my trip to the north of Norway, so some cheap soft bags had to do. But it worked ok.
