Power Commander V for 2009 reg
Hi all.
Just thought I would let everyone know who is interested in the power commander v and the autotune module for the XT 2009 model, it hasn't been released yet! lol. The AutoTune module has been released but not the PCv. I have spoken to DynoJet today and they have advised to call again in about a month. The price for the PCv will be 272.50 +vat and the AutoTune module will be 182.60 +vat. If I hear anything sooner I'll post another message on here. Dal. |

This is weird. On dynojet homepage there is a note for XT660R 2009 - Power Commander V Under Development! And Tenere is not even on the list? I have a 2007 XT660R but the 2009 PCV is supposed to work on 2007 model.
What PCV is OffTheRoad using then? And another question, if anyone ever purchased PCV for XT660R, I would like to hear how the setup went? Last question - where can I see maps made for PCV to XT660R? Last edited by Piipz; 23-06-10 at 12:42. |

I have a PCV and autotune on my 2009 XTX... However... there is a reason as to why Dynojet hasn't officially released it and thats whats holding it back under the R&D side. The reason I cannot disclose im afraid.

I bought a Stage 3 filter and PC3 for my 2007 XTR. The O2 sensor had been removed and an eliminator fitted. The dyno shop could not get the PC3 to build a usable map because they said the dyno could not "handle" the fact there was no O2 sensor. It seems some of the 2007 ECU's have a fault in that they run rich and I appear to have one of those. VERY long story made short......I have ended up with the stage 3 filter, and everything else as standard and the bike runs very well indeed. Just a (very) teeny bit of surging at low speed, plenty of extra hp everywhere, getting about 20K's per litre as average. I fitted some Staintunes last week and now have even less surging, even more hp, and (not totally proven yet) better fuel consumption. Here is my 02c of analysis.....by chance I suspect the over-rich ECU has mated quite nicely with the Stage 3 and Staintunes. I spoke to Kev several times whilst I was going through this process and his simple words of wisdom were....if you are getting less than 18K's per litre bike is too rich, if you are getting more than 22K's per litre bike is too lean. How easy is that? I'm not trying to say that anyone should do this or do that, this is just my story.

I was under the impression that the O2 sensor is there in cases of closed loop operation, in that when the bike is cruising along, and at low RPM, the ECU takes readings from the O2 sensor and leans/richens the fuel ratio regardless making it impossible to build a fuel map. This is why an O2 eliminator is installed (and the O2 sensor removed) which sends a constant signal to the ECU to keep the bike in open circuit the whole time which can be mapped, to enable the PC3/V to create the fuel map. So them saying that they can't create a map because theres NO O2 sensor seems contradictory.
