Disc lock carrier: where's yours ?
I bought an Oxford Boss Disc lock to secure my Ten.
So far, I've stored the disc lock under the seat but as an alarm will be installed, I will lose that space. The disc lock comes with a nice carrier. (black thingy on the RHS in the picture below) I was wondering if anyone else had one and where the carrier would be installed. Keep in mind that I have a pillion quite often and use of the rear footpeg is limited.

Could you not mount it on the inside of the rear pillion peg? Obviously you would need to ensure it wouldn't interfere with the swing arm but there may be room. The only danger then is it may end up covered in all sorts of crud, so maybe not that good of an idea after all.

Mine is simply because my disc lock is the Oxford bullet type lock and it locks to a hole in my TT carrier when not in use.
i had also looked at mounting by the pillion footpeg but I have my loobman there. How about by the coolant tank seems to be plenty of room there. |

I installed it on the back of the reg plate, that's the only place I could find since the lock is quite big.
I'll make up something to protect it from wheel projection later

Lock it UP!
zOU, I actually read the below posts while I was trying to figure out how to mount a dock lock and a U lock in an easily accessible place on the XTZ and not interfere with myself or the pillion. Attached is a pic of the U lock mounted to the bike with some aftermarket screw clamps suited for the task. The disc lock was a little bit tricky. I opted for the home made approach drilling and hacksawing a heavy shelving bracket (still powder coated white in the picture) with two tough fibre plumbing washers sanded down to the right thickness so the disc lock will not rattle around. I would some PVC tape on the frame so it will rest in place with it's own weight. The mounting bolt on the pillion peg mount was replaced with a longer one to allow for the thick metal of the mount. I am pleased to say nothing rattles or gets in the way!
