Just looked on DNA's web site and found the snorkle replacement.. They say there that it should only be fitted to bikes that have had their fueling tweeked to suit.. Guys here have modded their own snorkles and have reported an lmprovement..

Is this just DNA covering there own backs?

Would i notice any improvement fitting one to an otherwise stock bike?

Anyone got a price for this part?

Many thanks..........

Well first of all,

before anyone here shoots any sentences about DNA without knowing who they really are and what they do, let me inform you that the managing director of DNA has just joined this forum to promote and advertise their product, and hopefully to establish a sponsorship and distributor program with

You will see a member called DNA and that is him, I am sure he will be happy to reply to any technical questions regarding air filters, which I ask you to be polite and respectful about it.

DNA will also be able to provide dyno charts to prove the improvement obtained with their filters so let's just wait and see.

Hi Guys greetings to all of you and thank CaptMoto for the introduction.
I am Dino the Managing director and Chief of the R&D department of DNA Filters Ltd, Greece.
The XT 600 is one of my favorite bikes and very popular in Greece, as you already know. So I have joined the forum to meet all of you that already are using DNA filters, thank you, and members that are considering using the DNA filters, and members that are using other brands.
Analyze in detail all the technical features of the DNA filter, answer all your questions and explain why use DNA and why not invite you all to visit our DNA factory in Greece.
So lets start!
Dino Nikolaidis

Hi Banksy,
Nice thoughts let me explain.
DNA has developed the Stage 2 air box cover TC-Y6E08-S2 for the XT 660 Z as a bolt on replacement cover, that in combination with the DNA filter R-Y6E08-01 will highly increase the air flow to the engine and at the same time provides maximum filtering.
The result in air flow is Massive! +56, 82% from stock. The stock intake (snorkel) flows 73,26 cfm @ 1,5 H2O, and the DNA Stage 2 intake 114,9 cfm!
So if you are going to use the above combination and allow +56,82% of air to enter your air box, you MUST check fueling and re-program your fuel injection, it is common sense.
DNA as a serious and very professional company informs all customers that purchase the Stage 2 Air box Cover, including an instruction sheet with every cover.
As you can see we provide all the necessary info with our products, first of all to protect you the customer from damaging your engine and us the manufacturer against product liability.
And by the way, we do not recommend using the XT 660 Z DNA Stage 2 air box cover with other Manufacturers filters, it is brought to our attention that it will not seal properly allowing dirt to pass thru towards the clean side of the air box.
I hope the above answers you questions,
Looking forward to hear from you,
Dino

Which is why I am proud to be able to brag about the fact that is perhaps one of the most avant-guard forums out there, cause we not only talk the talk but we also walk the walk, and there's no bullsh|t here at all.

Cheers

Hi Dino,

I have an XTZ with Apropovik exhausts. I have just bought the DNA air box cover and realised that I need some kind of fuel mod prior to fitting it. As this is the case I thought I might as well go to the full stage 3 mod (air filter and snorkel replacement). To get the best out of this mod am I right in thinking that I will need a power commander? Also is there a fuel map available for this configuration?

Regards

Colin
