Cramster Saddlebags

Hi, has anyone used or seen these saddlebags?

http://www.cramster.in/prod_stallion.php

I asked for prices by mail and this was their reply:

Colt - EUR 33.00
Stallion - EUR 35.00

Shipping for both together - EUR 60.0 Approx

Shipping separately costs more.

We usually ship directly to buyers (Retail + wholesale),
no distribution channel in europe.

Lookin'mighty fine, only not water resistant: like they say "don't leave them in the rain longer then one hour(?)".... You'll have to pack the contents in a plastic bag, otherwise everything is going to be wet(when it rains). You'd better go for Ortlieb softbags, more expensive but absolutely waterproof and very good quality. But hey, it's your call, just give you food for thought.
Greetz, Hans.

Hans, do you have any experience with the orliebs fit on the Ten and would they melt? My exhaust doesn't seem to get that hot, even after long rides. The Cramster bags do look nice, just wondered if someone has tried them yet. Cheers Phil.

No, not personally, 'cause I run alu panniers. But I'd say it won't be a problem with the original exhaust system, because the exhaust is shielded by a cover, that keeps the heat off the bags. And I do run Ortlieb roll bags for years now and they're top notch in waterproofness and quality, highly recommended. So I assume the saddlebags will be equally good(which is confirmed in several reports from riders, who use them).
Greetz, Hans.

There was a load of info on the HUBB about this roughly a year ago. Was very interested at the time now I am split between cheap panniers ie Lewis or a 20ltr Kriega pack each side of the bike, or maybe these mmmmmmmmmm

I don't work for OTR or get a commission from them, just surfing around and found this too (scroll to the second last item - claimed to be water-proof saddlebags): http://www.off-the-road.de/xt660z_te...aeck.html?&L=1
