OTR tail light, now I know why i'm not a mechanic
My rear tail light from OTR came in the mail this week and I have been busy with it today, the rear mudguard is fitted, and the taillight has been fitted to the mudguard, but I've bumped into some problems here and there. I hope you guys can help me out.
First of all, i haven't got a clue how I can get the electronics back working, but I'm not nearly there so let me start off with the first problems. The manual that came with it is in german, so that's not much help to me. Here's a copy of the manual: http://www.off-the-road.de/fileadmin..._Heckumbau.pdf I've fitted "Bracket A", which is attached to the frame of the bike. But there are no holes in the mudguard to make use of, so the bracket is just sitting there doing nothing for now. Do I have to bore the holes myself? Same thing for blinkers, no holes in the panel... And for the Numberplate holder, same thing, and there's not even sufficient space to fit it, as the licenseplate illuminator is in its way. The licenseplate illuminator has nothing to attach to so it's just dangeling in it's spot... Are these all flaws or am I just bad at this? Probably the second one... Help! |

Sorry to hear that Mythix,
Thats why i made my own and sell it on this forum, as i bought something similar from kedo who actually supply OTR and they are also cheaper. I suggest you put the instructions typed up on the computer and then use babblefish to translate or another translation package you can find through Google. Just a thought, sorry its not the answer you are looking for. WB |

Ok, I've drilled the holes, had some problems getting everything center but I got it nearly perfect now. Time to start on the electronics.
Here's what i have: 31012009(003).jpg 31012009(004).jpg Now i Dont want to start cutting wires, as there is no point in buying a rear end that requires no cutting so you can reinstall the original, and having to cut the wires to they cant go back to original... Any1 have an idea how i can make this work? EDIT: I found these aswell, i guess i must replace the connector with these smaller ones... 31012009(010).jpg Last edited by Mythix; 31-01-09 at 16:34. |

If i was you i would buy the wire that has the actual correct plug that you have just taken off the standard rear light cluster. That way, you don't start cutting it all up.
I'll drop you a line later with the part number, that way its easier to put it back to std in the future... Cheers WB |

Just went to a general chop and a cycle/car shop nearbyand they didn't have the right plug so I'll try another shop to get what i need.
I must say, It doesn't work yet, but It allready looks mighty good!! |
