Hi I passed my test Nov 07.
I struggled with the "U" turn. I had,nt ridden a bike in 20 odd years so I had to do the C,B,T and then did a DAS I would say practice the "U" turn on a heavy bike if you can, and watch your possioning on the road thats what I got miners for!
Other than that all I can say is dont try and do every thing in slow mossion they are looking for you to be making progress but NOT TAKE THE P*SS!!
So GOOD LUCK the XT is a lot of fun

Life savers,Life savers, and more Life savers. thats basically what i was told, and its being constantly looking around you to make sure no one is going to pull out on you, or try and slip up the inside/outside when your turning.

As for slow speed stuff its all about practice and spending your time at it, take as many lessons as you think you need, make sure to try and keep practicing all the stuff youve been taught on the road, take your time and dont get flustered, and just try and be smooth about every thing.

As for the U turns the walk around ones a piece of cake, for the ride round one make sure your rear brake pedal is low enough so you can slightly rest you foot on it, give the bike a good few revs and just slip the clutch all the way round feeding it in and out slowly to get the bike going.

Learn all the routes that you might be taken on, your motorcycle teacher/trainer should know these and this allows you to see all the hazards on the road before you go on them, eg pot holes, speed bumps, schools, roundabouts, one way streets etc etc, just means you know whats coming up if he says turn right/left here and are ready to do all the things you need to

Apart from this and practice there not much else you can do. Good luck for when ever your doing it.

test

Life savers, Life savers, and more Life savers....also keep upto the speed limits( the reason i say this ...is that they failed me 1st time doing 55 in a 60 zone ???? not makin progress they said.......turn in the road to master and emergency stop......get that sorted and your on your way to a world of fun......good luck mate you will do it :-)

Do all the prep you can then on the day stay nice and calm and relaxed, it will make you ride better. Try as hard as you can to enjoy the day and be confident! All the best to ya.
