Lower footpegs
I find the leg position a bit cramped, but instead of raising the seat I would like to lower the pegs. Will make the standing position more comfortable too. Since I also want the pegs to be wider I thought I could remake the existing pegs with some cutting and welding. Alternatively I'll make a plate that I bolt some new pegs on and mount it to the frame somehow. Anyone who have lowered pegs before and got some tricks of the trade to share?

Hey its strange although I have short legs I still find that they get bent up when seated. The only thing to watch out for is less ground clearance. This is not so much of a problem if you always stay on road but off road I think you want a clean underbelly otherwise the lowered pegs may snag on things or bottom out.
I think a good thickness of aluminium plate that you could bolt in place and then fix the pegs to. Or how about using engine bars as highway pegs so you retain the current ground clearance but could stretch out your legs on long hauls. Last edited by stuxtttr; 14-12-08 at 21:38. Reason: delete |

Ground clearance sure is a limiting factor on how low the pegs can go. |

I did not know this, but you can take the rubber bits off and then you have a proper metal "off-road" peg which is about 2cm lower with the rubber off. Much better for MX boots (about the same size as MK2 Cortinas)
