New Akra's ordered
I've just bit the bullet and ordered the official Yamaha Akrapovic end can, 567 at todays 15% VAT, after getting no reply from various emails to Arrow importers and CCC (although I now know why they never replied). Has anyone else bought these yet? And is it right that they have CAT's? Can you remove them?

I've just looked again at Capt's pics from the NEC, and the CAT's look like they're just before the cans in the link pipe. It should be possible to remove them, as I had to do a similar thing to the front down-pipe on my 999s. It's just a shame that they're there in the first place!

Akros are on the list for my upgrades a little later in the year. I can't seem to find price and availiltyon Arrows in this country. I had a full Arrow system on my FMX650, it was very well made and fitted a treat. However for the Ten the Akros look good and are fairly hassle free coming direct from my Yamaha dealer.

Arrow pipes are available on arrow website, but there are just pics, no details on weight/weight savings or power difference or whether it would fit various panniers and racks. A german company claims to sell them at over EUR900 for the titanium one and almost EUR 700 for the alu plus the 2-in-1 connector pipe for about EUR200, yet they still don't have them available even they said on the website that it would be in October. |

No CAT's in them - according to the Yam blurb I dug out in June when I was looking at these. They are there for the overland upgades, so that you can travel in 'Leaded only' countries.
I tried to find someone who has had these on a Dyno, but to date I've not found anyone - and Akrapovic just don't bother to reply to mail! I came to the conclusion that 600 was just not worth the 1-2Kg weight improvement.... I'd love to hear from anyone who can tell me any performance gain from these cans

Tenere Doug, I am very jealous they look great cant wait for your report.
Just the price that screws it for me. Hope that CCco can bring out something at a decent price. |

Bummer! A testrider for Yamaha NL(Bryan Zuidinga) e-mailed me, that he had a set of only once used Akra's for the Tenere for only 500,-euro's! Normally around 1100,-euro's, so that was a good deal, but I already have a set of Leovinces, so I had to turn his offer down. Wish he had contacted me earlier! Greetz, Hans.
