Accessories for the new Tenere
Don't know if anyone else has seen this yet, they have:
Akrapovic can for 1099 Euros, but though there is a pic its hard to see if it is a single or twin pipe. Center stand for 159 Euros. A nice looking aluminium water pump protector for 39 Euros. Two types of tank bag but no prices and say they will have shortly, a very strong and reliable luggage rack, Aluminium panniers, high engine guard, higher front fender http://www.off-the-road.de/799.html?&L=1 Its nice to see that the accessory manufacturers are more successful at producing products for the bike, than Yamaha are at getting the bike out there. Personally I'm off to check the bank balance now. |

I saw the Akra's at my dealer last saturday and they're twin pipes: lookin'good but (I think) too expensive! I got the Yamaha alu bashplate and centrestand(comin'friday), handguards, handlebar risers(30mm) and ordered a Hepco&Becker pannier rack(delivery aug/sept). Greetz, Hans.

Just hang in there people before spending a lot of money on Akraps, because shortly :CCC: will be doing their own cans for these bikes.

I got the centrestand and handlebar risers(30mm) today. The centrestand fits well and handling is easy; I think it's useful part for maintenance of the chain and rearwheel, although it adds some x-tra weight. The handlebar risers are super: more relaxed riding and less strain on neck&shoulders, and better pose when riding standing. Also fitted an oiltemperature gauge(instead of the oil dipstick, the RR10, ordered at
www.kedo.com), to check the temp and knowing when the Tenere is warmed up enough(80 degrees Celsius). On pipes: Leovince now also have a system for the new Tenere, but half of the price of the Akra's. But now it's weekend and what better way to spend it then to ride the Tenere and that with a big smile!! Greetz, Hans.

Did you have to fit longer throttle-brake-clutch cables when mounting the risers or are they "plug 'n play"?

Don't know if this has been posted, but OTR have a Tener section now. Not much yet (hand guards, tank bags, water pump protector and some more), but they promises to fill it up asap.
http://www.off-the-road.de/799.html?&L=1 On a related note: Have anyone come up with an idea on how to fit aftermarket mufflers on the Tener? Had planned to mount 2 of these to keep the look of the original: Have no idea how to fit the pipes, and still be able to have the panniers, without having to totally modify the rear. Don't want to cut anything since it drops the value of the bike when, or if, I sell it. Maybe I just have to wait for Ten-specific mufflers are out grmbl.. Edit: Does this look extremely weird? (2 to 1 muffler) Last edited by Molgan; 15-07-08 at 15:17. |
