Corrosion warranty

I have just noticed that the protective paint around the cylinder casing is peeling off, and leaving quite a large area exposed to corrosion. I have read a few of the other similar threads on here after a search, and noticed a few of you have had the same problem. Has anyone managed to get it sufficiently fixed under warranty, and if so what did they do and how long did it take? The bike only has 1600 kms on it, and I wash it almost every time I ride, plus it is stored in a garage.
Other than that, the bike runs great, and there is no other sign of rust or damage. Any suggestions.
Thanks.

I claimed for corrosion a few weeks ago, still waiting for the warranty to go through, not the fastest I know...

Thanks Tony, please let me know how it goes! I have e-mailed the dealer here with some pictures so I will see and will also keep you posted. I am hoping they will do something, but if not I think it can be easily dealt with some self bought engine paint.

I asked about this a while ago and Captmoto posted a link to another thread showing of a few other people who had the problem and all got sloved under warrenty.

I too have had both my engine cases corrode badly around some areas + my wheels (espically the front) are corroding but i dont know if my dealer will be happy to change anything as they wouldnt even change a wheel bearing under warrenty even though i had only bought the bike about 6 months before hand!!!

+ the people who work in my local yammy dealer just arent interested in anything other than selling new people bikes. Once youve bought one thats it no more interest in you.

Even though i havent asked my dealer about it yet as im too busy at uni + no point getting new cases etc when its still cold that salt is going down on the road it will ruin them within a few weeks. But its the fact that i once i came into my dealers after buying the bike trying to order a seal for the oil cover plate and they just didnt really wanna know me. I asked how long it will take to come in and the guy was sort of like welllll, i dont really know. (took over a week for 1 rubber seal).

The seal didnt cost much and wasnt really needed at the time just an incase i did something stupid type buy but i wouldnt like to see what they are gonna be like when i bring my bike rite into the shop and show them the extent of how my bike is corroding. Also if they wanna take my bike off me they will either need to offer me a free replacement with a top box or im not gonna be a happy chappy as its there fault my bikes off the road so they can repay me by getting my parts replaced under warrenty and provide me with another means of transport. (rant over, hard day at uni)
