Kev's Fuel mod and O2 eliminator for 07-08's

As you know I am one of the 07 owners and unfortunately another one of those who believed that the surging thing was sorted out on 07's...hmmmmm

well, I was facing surging (at low and mid revs) as well as cutting offs basically while downshifting.
I recently bought Kev's fuel mod mark III for 07-08's --it was actually before the O2 eliminator was also availlable-- . So, after I fitted my DNA stage 2 filter (ooooh yes!!! big difference but the fueling had to be adjusted as well...) I bought the "affordable" power commander made by KEV, "the wizard of OZ" as I wish to call him...
Results were impressive!!! A bit more of power --as most difference felt because of the DNA filter-- but most of all, the bike smoothed out and stopped acting like a crazy horse!!!
However I was still facing a bit of surging at low to mid revs... not that annoying compared to the wild thing that was there previously.
Well I thought that .... this is it! As good as it can be... so I just had to learn to live this way... a bit of surging at low-mid revs.
But KEV seems to NOT being satisfied until he does things PERFECT!!! or else he just can't sleep at night !!
So...here comes the O2 eliminator that succeeded to solve the problem right there!!!
I was so badly trying to persuade myself that surging was still there... that I was increasing revs bit by bit on each gear to be able to spot the rev level that surging starts... NO LUCK!!! Just because SURGING WAS NOT THERE ANYMORE!!!!!! !!!!
Even if it was 00:30 (and I had to wake up at 6:00 to go to work.. I kept on riding under all situations..slow ride in traffic... normal ride ..up to hi speed - accelerations - wheelies - downshifting and everything!!!
I have a new bike and I owe this to Kev, CaptMoto and XT660.com!!!
Thank you all!!!! Thank you so much!!!

all you 07-08 owners... mark my words. KEV's Fuel Mod Mark III and O2 eliminator.. is waiting to make your bike happy and you..even happier

Once again well done Kev, and great news for you George now your bike is finally running as it should.

With this finding we have established that to succombe the problems with surning on the 2007-8 models you are going to need A Kev Mod Mark III and the all important 02 eliminator also supplied by Kev.

Great news

Good news George. I had the same results on my bike as you know.

Basiclly the 07 with O2 sensor is still lean in the lower & mid range rpms & my fuel mod will help with low to mid range leaness, the only difference is now the 07 model is a little rich in the higher rpms 60% throttle & above, where the 04 to 06 models was lean accross the whole range.

If you are after a better ride low to mid range my fuel mod with a O2 sensor will help, if you are after power across the whole range & want to correct the fuel mixture across the whole range then a Power Commander is the best option.

I am here to provide the facts & not to promote my mods.

J-Maker,

I to have fitted the PC3 and O2 eliminator, and wow, wot a big big difference it really makes.

To all 07-08 XT owners, i can not reiteriate enough what j-maker has said, trust me on this, it is a must and the bike you have afterwards is a real real pleasure to ride through town and in low rev range.

Nice One

Unless you are willing to go the power commander route which as Kev says is the ultimate fuelling device you can happily go around it with a cheaper solution which is to get DNA stage 1 & 2 Filters, and the Kev Mod Mark III + 02 Elimintator. I would recomend this, because it will leave you more budget for a decent set of Carbon Cans!!!

I have already fitted stainless steel stubbies capt but not sure if i want to go down changing all the filters on the bike just yet and can`t afford a power comander.
So looking for a cheaper route to help with the surging and cutting out problem if that`s possible.

You have a few options.
Make up your own Kev fuel mod yourself, full instruction on the main page.
Or buy one ready made up complete kit, Pounds 47.00 for the KevIII fuel mod, postage included.
Pounds 22.00 for the O2 Eliminator if bought in the UK.
Pounds 5.00 for the blanking plug once the O2 sensor has been removed.

The kev modII for 04 to 06 can be bought off the www.xt660.com front page in the online shop, or direct PM to me kev, or on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/XT660X-XT660R...QQcmdZViewItem.
The 07> kev modIII can be bought by PM.

Otherwise if you live close by, pop over to my house & I will fit your mod for free.

Andy there is a gain in just fitting the O2 Eliminator it will help with the surging, the O2 sensor will need to be removed & a blanking plug fitted. The blanking plug can be bought from your local exhaust shop. I have not been able to find the correct O2 sensor plugs yet, so I would recommend to to by it from the UK if you want a plug & play connector. I can make up a O2 Eliminator but you would need to connect 4 wires to the loom as George did then tape up the Eliminator to make it water tight.

If you are going to fit DNA stage 1 & 2 filters or cans, I would recommend that a fueling device to be fitted with the Eliminator. George found with his stage 2 filter fitted with standard pipes he had to increase the fueling to get the best ride.

If you are happy with your bike then leave it alone, as we have found some of the 07 models with O2 sensor run just fine & do not need any modification.

The KevIII Fuel mod costs AUD$100.00 which includes postage. It is now for sale.

If anyone is handy with eletronics & they want to make there own, I can give you the full details on how to make them, they are very easy to make. As I have said before, my mods are to help riders & not to make a profit off them.
