Off The Road - Disclaimer
Dear friends, we at
need to clarify what are the terms with Off The Road and their business in relation to us.
From the first year this forum was online, we have asked Thorsten Haberkamm to come to a compromise with us, allowing our registered members to benefit from a forum discount, however this was never achieved on a single customer basis. What OTR are offering is a 10% on cumulative orders and not per single customer, he expects 10 people or more to buy the same item (which is a very difficult objective in itself) to be given his 10% discount. The reality is that OTR will not give individual discounts to our forum members, and that is the end of story. Normally, we do not sponsor companies that are not keen to offer a discount, and the only reason why we've kept promoting OTR, is that unfortunately, there are no other companies that have the products they offer. OTR are expensive to say the least and lately, judging from the experiences of those who have purchased items from them, their delivery accuracy and timing have been far from satisfactory. One or two people have had to cancel their order and asked for refund but some actually experienced the following: 1) the item was not in stock - delivery took over a month 2) the item was shipped but not received 3) the wrong item was sent 4) the item was received damaged The above are all true stories as told by those who have experienced them. Additionally, it appears OTR consist of one person only: Thorsten Haberkamm; who is known to close business when he is on holiday and has nobody to replace him when he is not available, usually he sends me an email to tell me he will be away for a week, and I will make an announcement here, plus there will be a notice on his website that they are closed. Some might say this is not a good way to run an online business and I would agree with them. I could just as well strike them off the forum and stop giving links to his website, however we have decided to continue to advertize then just because as I mentioned above there is no alternative and the parts he sells are of good quality when received within the expected time. However we would like to stress that we decline any responsibility from your decision to buy from OTR and that by ordering from them, you do so at your own risk. The only suggestion I can give you is that instead of buying on line you phone him up and make sure he has the item in stock and if he hasn't that you agree on the terms of the pre-order timing with him and that you only give him a deposit on an order without paying the full amount until proof of shipment is sent to you prior to receive the goods. Give him a hard time, it is your rights and he shouldn't be bullying you guys with false promises. Good Luck Last edited by CaptMoto; 14-07-08 at 01:27. |

Well done capt and i think anyone ordering from there should read this first. Just to make sure to give the guy a hard time.
