Did a service as well, oil & filter , DNA filters clean & reoil.

The front end feels much more postive, a little harsher over the bumps but exceptable, far softer then my mates SV650. In all quite happy with the 15 weight oil & would recommend it.

My fork springs measured up well, 592mm with the spec being between 593mm to 581mm, so they have not sagged at all with the spacers that I put in, which is good news.

Kev , i did mine some time ago and agree a little harsher but after a while you would!nt dream of going back to 10w.I find the bike more stable for road use and great for long sweepers at pace.Love the step by step pictures.cheers johnno

Well 6 weeks since buying my new bike & I could not wait anymore, I pull the forks out & changed the fork oil from 10W to 15W. Now she feels much better.

Also make sure you use your wifes best Pyrex measuring jug she will love you. Add 600ml in each fork tube, I only use this measurement as a guide & always measure the fork oil height from the top of the tube to get the levels correct.

If your ride height is a bit higher with the fork spacers you can raise the fork tubes through the triple clamps. This will get the bike to steer better in tight corners.

kev you are like a big child in a sweety shop with your bike. I would love to be able to mess around with my bike like you do but knowing me i would probably break something, and just have to end up paying money to get a replacement part or for someone to fix it.

I really like that colour of bike i wonder if i could do a DIY paint scheme like that on my XTR. i'll be back in a jiffy....... to be continued
