Do I sell my tenere.and buy one in the uk

I'm thinking of moving to the UK. Where I was born.
Do I sell my XT660Z Tenere and buy a good used one.or ship mine over ?

With Scorpion pipes on .I don't think it will get through yr MOT.
What else.
Can you ride Motoz Desert tyres on the roads there ?
What's the law regarding tyres in the UK?

The pipes may or may not be a problem - depending upon the MOT examiner... I know of one who is deaf in one ear, depending on whether he likes you dictates which side he would listen to the bike with. It's a grey area as it's about the noise, strickly speaking I think the db on the pipe is supposed to be around 93db. If your can is stampd with a kite mark you can usually argue your case.

Tires are a bit more straightforward, they should carry a E11 mark. If they don't, you might have to argue your case at MOT, or at the roadside if you get an officious cop. In the UK the green lanes and byways are public roads, so your bike must be legal - not that all are....

It's probably a lot less hassle selling your bike in SA, then buying here. Imported bikes will attract an insurance hike (becasue they'll see it as an import) and you've got the cost of getting it here, registering it and getting it through the various DVSA paperwork (might even need a specific test.. dunno about that though). Unless you are thinking of riding it back to SA at any time ?

You know that state of your current bike but risk buying a lemon...

Economically if it probably wiser to sell and buy another - and might be an excuse for a new T7 ;-)

Bur could also be an excuse to take a month or two off and ride it to the UK.
