Hyper Pro upgrade
Hi All,
I am in the middle of upgrading the front forks with hyper pro springs. The bike is 2010. Took the forks apart handy enough, fun started when I tried to put it back together. manual advised the - amount of oil - orientation of the spring I cannot get the cap back on once fully re-assembled. Components being (and sequence) - spring - washer - Spacer 1 (about 2.5inches long) - Spacer 2 (about 1.5 inches long) - cap Checked the manual and there is just one spacer. Now I am wondering had a previous owner added the second spacer and this being the reason why I cannot get it back together. Thanks alot in advance Ger |

Ok, after some reading the forum, i am assuming a previous owner had added the additional spacer.
Next question, do i need the additional spacer with the hyper pro spring. Thanks Ger |

Hi Ger,
I did the HyperPro upgrade a while ago - you should have the correct new spacer in the HyperPro box, i.e. you replace the existing spacer(s) with the new HyperPro one. The spacer should be a different length from whatever was in there before due to the different spring ratings. Cheers, Andre' |

Thanks Andre,
Took the assumption the second spacer was installed buy a previous owner (potentially a Kev mod). Installed the original spacer along with the washer and cap. The Hyper Pro kit I purchased just had the spring and oil (no spacers). Put it all back together, decided to use synthetic 15w oil. Need to test it over the weekend to see the improvements.
