Well it looks like I may need a new battery. Its going to replace my OEM battery. Now, what is out there that you would recommend for our XZ660Zs ?? Many thanks, Chris |

Just remember that there is a diffenrence between the first and the ABS version.
Mine is the ABS version and I've just replaced with a new OEM - YUASA YTZ10S https://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_from...12005&_sacat=0

Bosch/Yuasa...I personally go to Halfords..any issues are easy to sort locally. Yes you can get cheaper on ebay but then should things go tits up your stuck..

I could of course also order it from a local dealer. But they do not stuck it anyway and i don't want just any battery that will fit but a good brand. With regards to batteries i've used a number of Varta in the past with good success. I can order those almost day to day from a car-parts shop in a nearby town. But i went with the OEM for the pony - just to be sure to get the right one without having to measure. Didn't want to take the bike apart for replacing the battery before i had the new one in hand - it is a hassle on an ABS tenere to get to it.
The nearest yamaha dealer might be able to get parts in a few days, but that not most faster than having it delivered directly. I have not even bothered to ask them for a price. I've also just ordered som gaskets since i think that i've gotten the loose nut on the crankshaft. Anyway, i've ordered the gasket last week and they are delivered here today. I have ordered parts from the yamaha dealer before, but that involves having a printout with me to the shop and have them find the prices on the parts i've already found myself. Then wait about a week and then drive back to get them. It is just easier to get it delivered.
