So, Fork Seals

Hello,
I need to replace my XT660R fork seals, not had the bike long and the seals had been replaced not long before I got it.
Turns out the left stanchion has a wee pit that needs dressed, hence the new'ish seal has gone.
So I'm googling for a guide to get some tips and cant seem to find any.
I don't have any access to fancy equipment and the bike will be balancing precariously in my kitchen throughout.

So mop/broom handle and an impact driver?

Any tips welcome, anyone have a diagram of the internals?

Thanks

Meant to say 2006 model
