Getting on XT660Z

Xtz660z.
Loving the riding position, and don't want to lower the bike. When getting on with hepco and baker cases fitted I kick hell out of boxes, seat tail plate , everything generally. Is the stand strong enough for fat old me to stand on the peg while getting on?

Not looking very graceful at the moment, and needless damage being done.

Any tips/ advice on mounting appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

I've had my Z for 4 years and have used it daily. I also climb aboard from the left foot rest whilst it's on its side stand when the boxes are on or when I have a shopping bag under the spider net on the pillion seat which is most of the time. It's also the way I get off.

The stand is strong and it hasn't loosened the stand fitment within the bracket. I weigh 95Kg and am 6 foot tall but my personal height and inside leg has never made it easy getting on and off when the bike is carrying something.

I did fit a 'big foot' for the stand's base plate which is something I wish I'd done from day one. It makes the bike so more stable when I'm dancing all over it.

Same here....I hop on and off mine with the sidestand down...no worries with wear on the sidestand at all! . It's just one of the minor issues with a tall bike like the Tenere. ...those moments in sloping car parks with fellow bikers watching when you know you are in danger of the Tenere Topple! Steve

Thanks folks- glad it's not just me. Might look into getting a big foot. Sounds like money well spent.

Thanks again
