2nd Gen Karoos (Street)

I've had Metz's Karoos and they were pretty good. Saw these and thought I'd share the web page. Although it looks like a 130 rear isn't an option yet. May be you have another bike that would thank you for these new boots.

Hi Chalk 2,
Interesting, hope they might be better than the Karoo 3s.
They were hard wearing but leathal on a wet road.
Part of the reason is the profile and also mine were 3-4 years old, really hard wearing.
Loved the Karoo and Karoo 2s.
Using an electric plane to take a small amount off the older surface rubber helped; I currently use TKC-80s now which seem to handle better off and on road, but wear a lot faster.

What tyres are you currently running?

Hi Ferg....I'm on my 2nd set of TKC 80's. I've had Karoo 3's and thought they were 7 out of 10 for tarmac and on the loose stuff were pretty fair too but the loose stuff here is dust and small stone on hard packed mud tracks. I thought the Karoos were the hardest to get off the rear rim. I switched to 80s because I heard they're softer and easier to get off a rim whilst in the middle of no where and I found that to be definitely the case.

I have had Siracs (5/10), Sahara 3's (7/10), Mitas EO8's (8/10). I change my own tyres with a Motion Pro bead breaker set and the TKCs have been so easy to get on and off, plus the 1st set lasted just under 6000 miles which really suprised me.
