2005 XT660X Powercommander 3

Hi guys, just bought a 2005 XTX that came with akra slipons and a powercommander 3. The bike is real bad to ride under 50km because of the surging issue and apparenty burns through sparkplugs quickly according to the second owner who bought the bike 15 moths ago already fitted with all the performance gear. There is a book with the powercommader but no cables so that is something that i need to get. I have a question ragarding the tuning though before i go and buy cables and what not. Can the pwrcmndr be tuned to make the surging dissapear and also adjust the fuel ratio so it doesnt burn the spark plug heaps black heaps quick?

Thanks

I have no idea if the power commander will sort the issues BUT the richness/surging are common problems which can be sorted relatively easily.

It's all in the forum..

I've used a Dynojet Powervision, which I imagine is similar and it was excellent. I was able to upload a map suitable for my mods that worked really well.

I dont know if the power commander has it, but on the powervision you were able to use the autotune feature which was superb and very interesting to play around with..

Mine runs absolutely fantastic sometimes i’ll Be messing about trying to get it to surge like it used too,BUT you have the slightest problem it needs to go to a dyno it’s no good messing about thinking it’s some DIY job.
