Exclamation Scariest front tyre puncture ever

Hello Every one Im new to the Xt660z, well to the whole ADV concept.

On Sunday, I was on the middle of the highway around 120 km per hour and my front tyre went completely flat in seconds, I notice for maybe 5 seconds that the bike was pulling to one side and the handle bar was a little stiff and then BAM the bike was completely unstable and wobbling like crazy. I try my best to keep the handlebar steady while I was braking (back break only) and using the engine to decrease the speed too. Maybe it was a rookie mistake as soon as I felt that the bike was a little stiff I should pull over, but it was just seconds to react.

It was the most unpleasant and scariest experience ever, so I wouldnt like to repeat it again.

Therefore, I would like to know if there are any alternative you guys may be using to avoid the tubed tyres and just use tubeless. Or at least some new alternative/technologies of tube that doesnt goes flat in matter of seconds allowing you to at least pull over safely.

Anyone may have an idea?
I had some Spoked rims so i know i cannot use the tubeless on this kind of rim but maybe some of you guys knows a trick about how to do it.

Kind Regards
JuanC

Golden Tyre GT 723 is a tubeless tyre and they make one for 21" spoked wheels. Its has an off road bias and is a bit pricey but cheaper than any other tubeless option. Adventure Spec sell them.

Thanks you all for the suggestions

I think i just need to buy some heavy duty inner tubes and be more careful with the tyre pressure, it look like the tire pressure was low and that was the root of the puncture.

I run goop/slime in the front as well, might help slow air loss from a puncture.

the prob for a tubliss tyre is the spoke holes in the rim it can't hold air ,not the tyre.. For spoked rims the only real option is the Nutec system..
(Or fit BMW rims)

I run tubeless on the back wheel, the wheel was sealed up around the spokes. Works fine and no need to remove the wheel for punctures, the golden tyre has a tube glued to the tyre so you can plug that as well in the event of a puncture

Yeah nasty experience and well done that you are ok. ALWAYS carry a good tyre pressure guage and check pressures (cold tyres of course) before every ride. It can save yer ass. General rule is that spoked wheels cannot run tubeless tyres cos of the spoke holes thro the rim but with some work you can, as the guys mention. But with or without tubes, keep on top of the tyre pressures.
