660R fork help needed...seriously confused
Hi Guys
So I just opened up my forks for the first time and big surprise! I found a 30mm spacer and a progressive spring! Now for the confusion part. The factory springs arent progressive are they? If it is a after market progressive spring it shouldn't need a spacer right??? Spring is 630mm long and 5mm diameter. Air gap is 425mm Thanks for any input

Probably a silly question but was everything to your satisfaction with the fork action BEFOrE you stripped it?..
If it was why worry?.. |

My xt660r, 2007, came from the factory with progressive springs. Without spacers.
Are you sure about the air gap? I think it should be around 125 mm. |

125mm is correct, but that is when the forks are fully compressed. Thanks, I had no idea that some came with progressive springs, I thought that was only an aftermarket thing.
