Question 2006 XT660X Surging issue

Let me just start by saying that i don't know if this thread is in the correct place, please move it if not.

I recently bought a 2006 XT660X with 15k km on it, and i have the common surging issue. Or at least a mild form of it. The bike has a Power Commander III, open MTC exhaust, and DNA Stage 3 airbox. The ECU is the 01 type.

I did a bit of research, and found a post by KEV saying that with the 01 ECU and a PC3 this issue is rectified easily. However, it said nothing about how. As i'm new to this bike i need a bit of help to get me going.
