Mix synthetic oil?

Hi gys
Im travelling. I have Castrol Actevo in but Im losing bit of oil. Its not possible to easily get CA oil or 10-40 so can I put in some 20-50 if its synthetic?

I have heard that it must be the same viscocity as well. Dont know if it is true. I dont know if the Z will explode if I mix 10-40 with 20-50 2:1. In emergencie what can you do?

You can mix viscosities. It is a fairly standard trick to vary the overall viscosity. It was common practice in the 50s and 60s before multigrade oils were developed. The only issue is, the final resulting viscosity is fairly difficult to predict without properly testing it.

You will be fine to mix a synthetic 20w50 with what's in your bike to keep you going. Just change it out for something of a known quantity as soon as you get the opportunity.
